Faith UMC Update May 31, 2018

Dear Friends in Faith,

This Sunday is Children’s Sunday, which is always great fun! Our youth will lead the service and we will honor those graduating from High School. It is hard to believe that kids who were just little when I arrived here are now graduating and embarking on their adult life. Time goes by so fast! I hope you will join us as we recognize the gifts of our young people and hear about a mission project that is close to their hearts.

Below is a prayer for our community of Faith. Scroll down further to find announcements about events and opportunities in your church community.

Your Friend in Faith,

Pastor Kristabeth

Dear God,
This church is a family.
Help us to learn together
To worship together
To share together
To play together
To pray together
To come together
And to reach out to everyone with family love! Amen.

FLOCK, our Children’s Church School, will be on summer break from June 10th through the beginning of September. Children of all ages are welcome (and encouraged) to attend worship with their families.  Coloring pages are available at the Children’s Table at the front of the Sanctuary.  The nursery will continue to be staffed throughout the summer (except on the First Sunday of the month).

Celebrate! 137 pounds of food to the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf for the month of May.

Church Library

Our Church Library (located past the Pastor’s Office beside the Sanctuary) was recently organized and new books were added. There are books available for children, youth and adults – fiction and non-fiction. Books are arranged by category and can be checked out for your use and enjoyment! As you enter the library there is a sign-up sheet attached to the wall. Just write down the book title and your name and we trust you will return it when you are done!

Free Book Table

On Sunday you will find a “Free Book” table in the Gathering Space. There are many Bibles, books on various topics, and Bible cases for you to peruse. Please do not be shy! If you are looking for a Bible of a particular translation, or you have a friend who would like a Bible, or find a book of particular interest, please take what you can use! All the books and Bibles were donated for use by our Faith community.

Painters Needed!

The Trustees are looking for volunteers to paint three rooms – two at the parsonage and one at the church. If you enjoy painting, and would like to lend a hand, speak with Beth Williams or Ann DeYoung.
