Dear Friends in Faith,

Lately I’ve started incorporating intentional ‘silent time’ in my morning devotions.  I set an alarm for 5 to 10 minutes (depending on my schedule) and simply sit in silence listening for God.  Yes, my mind does wander!  But when it does I try to gently bring myself back to listening in the silence.  I’m finding this to be a peaceful way to center and start my day.

Below you will find a prayer about God’s presence in silence.  Scroll further down to read about upcoming events and opportunities in our community of faith.

Your Friend in Faith,

Pastor Krista Beth

The Blessing of Silence

For the mystery that enfolds us and blesses us,
For the beauty that surrounds us and nourishes us,
For the life that flows within us and among us,
For the bounty before us,
We bow.

If pressed to say a blessing
I rely on the one above,
but given a choice
I usually decline
for I know the Divine
is present in the silence.
Sharing a meal in and of itself
is a holy prayer.
Listening to life
blesses whatever is there.

Pastor Krista-Beth’s Schedule

Next week will be a bit crazy!  Monday I will be keeping my regular Office and Open Hours.  Tuesday morning I will be sharing the love of God through my work with the Chittenden County Domestic and Sexual Violence Task Force.  Wednesday morning I will be meeting with our District Superitendent and Cluster Clergy for a fall brunch.  Thursday begins a short vacation (Thursday-Monday) for a family reunion in Maine.  Joe Watts will be leading the September 21st worship service with help from Faith friends.  The focus will be on prayer!  As always, if you are looking for me and I am not in the office, please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
