Dear Friends in Faith,

It has bee a long winter and a long Lent.  But we aren’t quite “there” yet.  Even as we have snow in the forecast, we have to travel with Jesus to the cross.  Spring will come.  Easter will come.  Yet in our rush to get “there” let’s not miss the lessons we can learn along the journey.

Below you will find a prayer for Holy Week.  Scroll further down to read about our upcoming Holy Week opportunities and other events.

Your Friend in Faith,
Pastor Krista Beth

The Love of Jesus

This is love.
Not that you spoke words of comfort,
walked with the unclean and unloved,
shared wisdom, bread and wine,
brought healing into lives
and challenged the status quo.

This is love.
That you spoke the word of God,
walked a painful road to the Cross,
shared living water, bread of life,
brought Salvation to the world
and died for the sake of all.

This is love.
It is a seed
sown in the ground,
which germinates,
blossoms,
and spreads its sweet perfume.

Our church’s largest fund raiser, the Ham Dinner/ Silent Auction will be held on Saturday, April 25.  This is the first time that we’ve held it this early but there were scheduling conflicts.   Valerie will be out of town for two weeks dealing with family issues and there is still a lot to be done!  We need several volunteers to visit a few local businesses over the next two weeks as a follow-up to the donation letter.  We also need helpers the day of the event and people to bake pies.  The sign-up sheet is on the kiosk in the narthex.  If you’re willing to help, Valerie can be contacted at 999-6864.

Adult Bible Study 5 – 6 pm, Sundays, April 12 through May 17, Upper Elementary classroom
What can we say to God when He allows bad things to happen to good people? Is it okay to ask why? Will He forgive us if we are angry with Him? Is He still the same good God, regardless of our circumstances? In this 6-lesson study of the Book of Job, you will see how losing everything precious affected Job’s relationship with God, and how God responded to his questions.   We will spend six weeks examining these and other questions.   If you wish to participate, please let Jay Furr know so he can get you a copy of the study workbook in advance of the first session.  Jay is at 802-434-4601, jfurr@furrs.org, or simply ask him on Sunday.
